2/24/22 updated comment: It's likely already too late to effectively support and protect Ukraine -- a nascent democracy. If former president and current American citizen Donald Trump fundamentally had U.S. (and its NATO alliance) interests at heart, he would (unequivocally) be offering his (mostly self-described) services to the current U.S. administration, perhaps to try to defuse the current situation and negotiate - or not - with the despot Putin. ↓Instead, Trump does this.....says it all: (2/24/22 news/news analysis article links)
